The Child Care Council provides child care referrals to New York State regulated child care programs in Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida counties. A referral specialist will match your family's child care needs to child care programs that meet those needs. We also provide parents with information on how to select the child care program that will best meet your family's needs.
How our Referral Service Works
Contact the Child Care Council to obtain a listing of New York State certified child care programs in your area. One of our referral specialists will obtain from you specific information about your family's child care needs including the age of children, the days and times you will need care, the location of care and the type of child care program you would prefer.
In addition, the referral specialist will provide you with education on types of child care and tips on choosing a child care program that will meet your family's needs.
The referral specialist will match your information with regulated child care homes and centers in your requested area. You will receive a list of programs in the mail, along with information on what to look for when selecting child care.
