Legally-Exempt Provider Grants
Effective July 31, 2006, New York State Office of Children and Family Services placed in effect new regulatory standards monitoring legally exempt child care providers. Legally exempt child care providers are individuals who care for no more than two children, not related to them, outside of the child's home. In addition, the legally exempt child care provider must be receiving child care subsidy payment for at least one child from their county's Department of Social Services.

Through grant funding, the Child Care Council is able to offer legally exempt child care providers health and safety supplies, including first aid kits, outlet covers, and escape ladders, to legally exempt child care providers so that they may comply with state regulations.
