Food Program
The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a federally funded nutirition program sponsored locally by the Mid-York Child Care Council. The Child Care Council's food program serves legally exempt, family and group family child care providers in Herkimer, Madison and Oneida counties. The program offers nutrition education and monetary reimbursement to offset the cost of serving nutritionally balanced meals and snackes within child care settings.
Can My Child Care Program Participate?
Programs can be reimbursed monthly for meals and snacks served to children in care, ages 6-weeks to 12-years-old, based upon compliance with the following CACFP requirements:

Programs can be reimbursed monthly for meals and snacks served to children in care, ages 6-weeks to 12-years-old, based upon compliance with the following CACFP requirements:
> Program must be a NYS regulated family or group family home, or a legally-exempt child care program, funded by county subsidy funding.
> Participate in initial on-site visit to assist in meal planning, nutirtion education and program record keeping requirements.
> Allow 3 to 4 home visits yearly, to monitor food preparation and service, and program records.
> Submit appropriate paperwork (attendance and menu logs).
> Attend an annual training
