Fingerprinting Services at the Child Care Council
New York State Child Care Regulations require that all affiliated with a regulated child care program be fingerprinted and have their fingerprints processed through the NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice database.
Those who must be fingerprinted include:
> Child care center teachers, assistant teachers, directors and other personnel
> Family or group family child care providers and assistants
> Child care program substitute teachers
> Household members residing in a family child care home
NOTICE:
As of October 9, 2009, the Child Care Council will no longer offer an "ink and roll" fingerprinting service. This is due to implementation of a new policy from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. OCFS will no longer accept "ink and roll" fingerprints, but instead will accept digital fingerprint images. OCFS has contracted with an outside vendor to offer this updated service.
If you are in need of fingerprinting for the purpose of child care compliance, contact L1 Identity Solutions at (877) 472-6915, or for TTY/TTD applicants, call (877) 219-0199. You may also visit L1 Identity Solutions online at http://ibtfingerprint.com/locations/?st=ny to view current fingerprinting locations or to schedule an appointment.
