Fingerprinting Services at the Child Care Council

New York State Child Care Regulations require that all affiliated with a regulated child care program be fingerprinted and have their fingerprints processed through the NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice database.

Those who must be fingerprinted include:
> Child care center teachers, assistant teachers, directors and other personnel
> Family or group family child care providers and assistants
> Child care program substitute teachers
> Volunteers, students, workstudies in a child care program
> Household members residing in a family child care home

The Child Care Council employs staff who are trained to take fingerprints at our main office in Oriskany, as well as our local offices within the county departments of social services. The Child Care Council offers this service free of charge.

To ensure that a fingerprinter is available to assist you at the time of your visit, please contact the Child Care Council at 223-7850 prior to visiting to make an appointment to be fingerprinted.
