The SECURE Project
The SECURE Project (Social-Emotional Coaching towards Understanding Relationships and Environments) focuses on making improvements in an infant or toddler classroom or in a family or group family child care programs. The SECURE Project is primarily designed to:

* increase understanding of the critical importance of developing secure relationships with infants and toddlers

* create environments that support the individualized care of infants and toddlers

* support providers in implementing skills learned through coaching into the caregiving environment.

What is the advantage of participating in the SECURE Project?

  • an Infant/Toddler Specialist will come to your site
  • an Infant/Toddler Specialist will work with you on your specific goals

How do I register to participate in the SECURE Project?

There is no cost for this program, but you must register by completing the application linked here and returning it to Arlene Brouillette.
  • Complete application and send to address on the form
  • you will be notifed of acceptance into the program
  • there are limited spaces available, so applicants may be put on a waiting list

What will the commitment be?

  • We will work with you for at least 2-3 months
  • schedules will be determined on an individual basis
  • the number of hours a program participates is individualized; most average 20 hours

Will I get training hours?

  • Participants will earn training hours towards their NYS OCFS Training Requirements
  • Training hours and categories will be determined on an individual basis
